Hello, let me introduce myself. I am David Croker, an Essex based photographer who specialises in nature and events photography. In both contexts, my aim is to create images that retain the look and feel of the original atmosphere.
My interest in photography started at a fairly young age, using a point and shoot camera before having a go with my dads film-based SLR. As soon as I started to use it, I realised how much I had a love of photography. I remember that moment as clear as day. Crouching down by a little fence after spotting an insect on a plant then, after considering which angle, clicking the shutter. Of course, back then I had no idea of how it would influence me in the future.
Fast forward a few years and I was not only asking for a camera for Christmas, but taking a digital camera on school trips while my friends took a disposible, if one at all. As the years progressed, a combination of different situations and being in the right place at the right time, led me to purchase my first DSLR. The decison to do this proved to me that I was taking it a lot more seriously and over the last few years have honed my skills, choosing nature and events as my main areas.

NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY
When I photograph nature, I aim to give you, the viewer a true sense of being there, seeing the subject just as I did at the time of taking. By carefully composing the image, I can ensure that I not only highlight the main subject but give it context.

When I photograph your event you can expect images that capture the special moments that are planned into the occasion as well as those that happen spontaneously. I achieve this through unobtrusive, documentary style photography, leaving you to enjoy your event.
